The S3H builds on the success of ADAM Audio's best-known studio monitors, the S3A and S3X-H, and also sets new standards in terms of technical innovation in the field of electro-acoustics.

The two 7-inch bass woofers, equipped with new ELE and SMA technology, each driven by powerful, separate 500 W Class-D amplifiers, offer perfect reproduction of frequencies down to 32 Hz. ADAM Audio's newly developed DCH midrange driver, a 4-inch hybrid of dome and cone midrange drivers, is powered by a 300 W Class-D amplifier and is responsible for frequencies between 250 Hz and 3 kHz. The state-of-the-art hybrid design combines the sonic advantages of dome and cone drivers in a unique way and ensures excellent dispersion in the often critical mid-frequency range. The frequencies above 3 kHz are handled by the newly developed S-ART tweeter, which is elaborately handcrafted in Berlin. Combined with the new HPS precision waveguide and a 50 W Class A/B amplifier, the tweeter produces an impressively transparent sound panorama with a wide sweet spot.

The DSP board specially developed for the S series includes a perfectly tuned crossover for an extremely linear frequency response. Furthermore, two parametric shelving filters (one for the bass, one for the treble) and six additional fully parametric EQs with variable slope allow the monitor to be customised to the room or individual preferences. A special feature of the S3H is a preset that emulates the playback characteristics of the legendary ADAM S3A. In addition, the DSP offers limiter-based protection mechanisms for the tweeter amplifier, digital AES3 inputs and various options for future expansions. Software updates and digital control via the computer are very easy via the USB port.

The S3H with its 3-way system and powerful amplifier units is optimally configured for horizontal use as a midfield monitor, but can also be used in more compact rooms thanks to its excellent reproduction capability of the sound signals fed into it. As with all ADAM Audio monitors, the sound characteristics of the S3H are both powerful and musical, with crystal clear reproduction of the critical mid frequencies. The wide frequency response of the S3H and the high power reserves of the amplifier units allow it to operate without an additional subwoofer: an option for all sound professionals looking for a full-frequency monitoring system that gives them accurate information about audio signals, whether at high or low sound pressure levels.

Whatever the preferred level when working, the vivid authenticity of the S3H is a stimulus for the creativity of producers, engineers and musicians. The design is such that there are no signs of fatigue, even when working over long periods of time.
