ADAM has developed a special kind of subwoofer for large control rooms and film studios: The Sub2100 combines a huge 543 mm diameter woofer and a power amplifier with 1000 watts RMS in a bass reflex cabinet tuned to 18 Hz. As the efficiency of this woofer is extraordinarily high (99 dB/W/m) and the power output is immense, this system can generate a sound pressure level of 128 dB SPL (!) at one metre, without any significant compression, linearly and powerfully down to 18 Hz.
World's largest voice coil:
What makes this woofer so fascinating, however, is the world's largest voice coil at 150 mm: The Sub2100 thus achieves the highest sound pressures in the lowest sound ranges that can be perceived by the human ear, setting new standards in the subwoofer sector.
