24 AWG cables may be used for distances of up to 300 metres. For longer distances, or if more than 32 devices are to be supplied by one data line, we recommend using the Martin Optosplitter.
Terminating resistor The data line must be terminated with a 120 Ohm resistor between Signal+ and Signal-. This is very important for error-free data transmission. When using a splitter, each data line must be terminated. The easiest way to terminate a data line is to use a termination plug (120 Ohm resistor between pins 2 and 3) on the data output of the last device on the data line.
