Avantone Pro, in conjunction with legendary mixer Chris Lorde Alge, has created the most faithful reproduction of the world's most iconic studio monitor. Now anyone can mix on the monitors that defined the "hitmaker sound". A tremendous amount of design work and attention to detail has finally made the "White Cone" monitors accessible to everyone! And now the world has got what it always wanted - an actively powered version: the CLA-10A! Black box. White cone. High frequency range. It's not known as the world's best - but it's known for being the world's best reference - the sound that makes hits.

Since the discontinuation of the "white cone" studio monitor, replacement parts have become more and more expensive and less and less available. Avantone Pro has developed a near-exact replica of the original drivers. Utilising global resources and decades of experience in driver construction, the components have been faithfully reproduced and the materials updated to meet modern environmental requirements. The AV10-MHF dome tweeter has undergone a difficult engineering process to achieve the exact phenolic resin doping to match the original performance curve. The AV10-MLF woofer utilises specially manufactured mechanical parts to match the original. Avantone Pro worked closely with one of the original manufacturers of the original cone to achieve exactly the same stiffness and weight. The new moulded cone allows for more accurate matching than the original, making it possible to offer matched pairs of speakers for the first time today!

One of the most frequently asked questions about the CLA-10A's is which version of the originals they are based on, and the answer is: all of them! The CLA-10A's have a completely new "Variable Tissue Paper Control". This VTPC can be used to simulate everything from vertical "m" models to horizontal "studio" models and everything in between. No more debate - VTPC has it all under control!

Avantone Pro has decided to stay traditional and use a linear power supply with a massive old-school toroidal transformer to preserve the original sound.

The new IN-8 2nd Wave has an updated amplifier module and enables 12 dB less self-noise with a 3dB higher output. The tuning has been refined for even smoother high-frequency behaviour and the boundary EQs have been updated to enable practical settings. A new feature here is the preset for horizontal speaker positioning. Further updates include lighter transducer cones for faster transient response and an improved cabinet design for less natural resonance.As a further development of the successful LP-8, the IN-8 2nd Wave features its sophisticated bass reflex system and the same level-resistant woofer. However, instead of the usual tweeter with 3D imaging waveguides, a coaxial midrange/tweeter combination has been installed here. The profile-optimised 4″ midrange driver also functions as a waveguide. By limiting the peak excursion to 1 mm, intermodulation distortion, which otherwise occurs in coaxial systems, could be avoided. The midrange driver also relieves the woofer and tweeter, so the IN-8 2nd Wave plays more harmoniously and with less distortion than conventional 2-way studio monitors.The crossover frequency of the woofer is 280 Hz, making the IN-8 2nd Wave an acoustic point source. Phase cancellations on the vertical axis will be sought in vain here.
