Product information "Boss OC 5 Octaver"
The BOSS OC-5 combines classic BOSS octave sounds with the latest tracking technology and establishes a new standard among octave pedals. The vintage mode is a precise replica of the legendary OC-2 mono pedal from 1982, while the OC-5 shines in polyphonic mode with numerous improvements and an extended tonal range. You can also use up to three octaves via the octave-up function to explore new creative avenues. From fat, deep mono sounds to octaved chords and more, the OC-5 offers the widest range, highest sound quality and best playability of any octave pedal on the market.
Classic sounds with the vintage mode
The OC-2 was introduced in 1982 and is considered the world's first modern octave pedal for guitar and bass. To this day, musicians love the equally warm and present sound of the pedal, which sits perfectly in the mix and can be heard on countless hits with its unmistakable characteristics. With the Vintage mode, the legendary mono sound is also available in the OC-5 - with even better response thanks to the new tracking engine. The permanently assigned level controls for -1 and -2 octave effects and the direct sound give you control over the enormous variety of sub-octave timbres at all times.
Extended polyphonic mode
The OC-5 includes an advanced polyphonic mode. First introduced on the OC-3 Super Octave, you can play chords with octave effects. The versatile Range control limits the effect to the lower notes of your instrument - perfect for octave bass lines in combination with classic chord and melody playing in the higher registers. Thanks to the optimised tracking, you can also limit the octave effect to the lowest note of a chord by setting the Range control to "Lowest".
Guitar/bass switch and Direct Out
Using the dedicated switch on the underside of the pedal, you can adjust the performance of the OC-5's tracking engine to either guitar or bass. The Direct Out output also makes it easy to play out the original and effect signals to different destinations, for example two stage amplifiers or two separate channels of a mixing console or audio interface.
