Inspired by the outstanding performance of the FATCAB™ , the speaker that I developed over the years and still play live today, I set myself the task of developing a speaker that was as compact as possible, yet still sounded good, to match the BluGuitar AMP1. For me, only a 12" speaker came into question, as I lack the low-mid foundation of 10" speakers. It was therefore clear that the 12" speaker would be the minimum size of the cabinet. On this basis, I experimented with the cabinet depth and various bass reflex constructions and set-ups. Open cabinet designs were also used. It quickly became clear that an opening in the cabinet provides a higher bass resonance, which gives clean and distorted sounds a special airiness. It must not be very large, otherwise important resonances would disappear. As a result, the speaker then sounds "small". On the other hand, only a closed cabinet design delivers the optimum punch for rock sounds. This gave rise to the idea of the small enclosure opening in the NANOCAB, which you can open or close yourself in just a few simple steps. To achieve even more warmth, the speaker was mounted on the baffle from behind and a Basket Weave front covering was chosen.The test of various prototypes led to an astonishing result: no matter what style I play, from clean to crunch to high gain, whether jazz, blues or rock - the combination of NANOCAB and AMP1 sounds simply perfect! Thanks to its bass reflex tuning, the NANOCAB has a really big tone with unprecedented low bass. It's also my personal favourite speaker for the living room, as it sounds absolutely balanced and rich even at low volumes. It's just as amazing how well the "little one" asserts itself in the band. The NANOCAB fits into a large suitcase and, thanks to its compact size, can be transported on a plane, train or motorbike. The BluGuitar NANOCAB is the smallest 1x12" cabinet with the biggest possible sound - an absolute reference as a compact cabinet that has no real competitor.

The BluGuitar FATCAB is the result of many years oftrying to bring the sound character of an old 4x12" cabinet into the compact 1x12" format.I realise that physics sets limits, but I find it amazing how well this speaker works for me in practice. It has proven its worth on small to medium-sized stages over the years and can optimally utilise its advantages here: As it is only fitted with one speaker, this is driven much faster into its optimum working range, which makes the sound very lively and less stiff. The Thiele bass reflex system and the firmly interlocked and extremely rigid cabinet ensure a defined, dynamic bass behaviour with low bass frequencies - the kind you would otherwise only expect from a large 4x12" speaker. And that even at low volumes. The cabinet volume in the speaker also provides an extra portion of low mids. But even at high volumes, the speaker remains balanced and does not tend to boom. The speaker with the fatter magnet always remains controlled. It delivers a harmonious mid-range and soft highs, which are made even silkier by the filter effect of the front covering with the thick basket weave.Fat bass with a quick response, a creamy mid-range, plus soft and silky highs that are not annoying. To me, the FATCAB sounds and feels like an old mini 4x12" speaker. I no longer miss a 4x12" speaker in clubs and on medium-sized stages. (Thomas Blug)

The VINTAGE PREMIUM SPEAKER CABLE delivers an audibly fat, warm and transparent sound with the "magic" cable length of 5.67 metres, even when used in combination with other guitar amplifiers and cabinets.How did the cable come about? Thomas writes:"After many years of using different speaker cables without paying much attention to the type of cable, I made a discovery by chance: I was using a not particularly expensive Marshall speaker cable with moulded plastic plugs and noticed that my sound was no longer so stiff, but rather round and still airy. Naturally, I wanted to get to the bottom of this immediately. I tested all sorts of things: All-copper cables, normal hi-fi speaker cables, silver-plated cables, cables with different cross-sections and, of course, the quality cables from the well-known brand manufacturers. I realised that all these cables sounded more or less neutral and that the sound was never as round as with the cheap, short Marshall cable. It lacked the "mojo" that makes the sound homogenous and, on top of that, detached from the speaker.After attending a workshop with a columnist from a guitar magazine, I told him about my discovery and we realised that we had had similar experiences in this respect. He then sent me a piece of a 1953 Fender power cord and I soldered jack plugs to it and used it as a speaker cable. I realised that the cable delivered the warmth and round, balanced sound I had always been looking for. After analysing the number and quality of the cable's inner conductors, I went in search of a similar cable. Lo and behold, I found a cable with a slightly higher cross-section, which, even at a greater length, realised exactly the sound I was looking for without any great loss of performance.Another realisation came to me when I had to shorten a guitar cable several times. After the third shortening of the cable, an incredible change in sound suddenly occurred. I could not explain this huge difference in sound simply by the change in capacitance due to the shorter length. It wasn't until many years later that I learnt that a theory I hadn't heard before stated that there are certain cable lengths at which a cable simply sounds different. I then tested these "magic" lengths - with the result that I actually found the ideal length for my cable.These two findings and everything else I know about speaker cables form the basis of what we can now present as the BluGuitar "Vintage Premium Speaker Cable" with tonal integrity."
