Based on the successful MC2.1, this monitor controller offers an extended range of functions with additional inputs, improved control options and extended routing options in a console design.The MC3.1 manages a total of five individually switchable sources including a front-panel aux input with volume control for easy connection of MP3 players, smartphones or tablets as well as a combined AES/SPDIF digital input with 24 bit/192 kHz. The extensive cue mix options with volume control allow sources to be assigned to either the main or the two cue outputs, each with its own headphone amplifier, for example to provide the artist and sound engineer with customised mixes. There is also a dedicated output for the cue mix.The preset volume control on the front panel can be used to set a calibrated and reproducible monitor volume so that the sound engineer can monitor the mix at the defined volume at any time at the touch of a button without the need for complicated adjustments.The MC3.1 has three balanced stereo speaker outputs and an additional mono output for an additional speaker/subwoofer. With all Drawmer monitor controllers, this ensures that your recording corresponds exactly to what you hear acoustically.Accurate and transparent:Thanks to its lineage from the MC2.1, the CMC3's circuit design is both transparent and accurate. It was developed to avoid the limitations of passive circuits. This includes the ability to raise the level in quiet passages for control purposes without compromising the sound with the artefacts of lower quality active circuits.Precision:The CMC3 provides connections for three pairs of stereo monitors and a separate output for a mono speaker/subwoofer. The outputs can be activated individually and simultaneously in any order, which is particularly useful for A/B comparisons. The subwoofer can be operated with several speakers or switched off completely.The volume control is designed as a specially tuned quad potentiometer for perfect channel balancing and, like the second preset volume control on the front, offers smooth operation. The preset control allows the set monitor volume to be saved so that the sound engineer can listen to the mix later without having to adjust the volume.Numerous connection options:The CMC3 is ideally equipped with a total of four stereo inputs: 1x S/PDIF digital input (24 bit/192 kHz), which uses the same DA converter as the established MC3.1 monitor controller, two balanced stereo jack inputs and a 3.5 mm mini-jack input with variable level for smartphones and MP3 players.In addition, two professional-quality headphone outputs with separate amplifiers and volume controls are provided. These offer the same high quality sound and the ability to check a mix as when using loudspeakers. Talkback is also possible via an integrated or external microphone with its own level control. The signal is output via a dedicated mono output and the headphone sockets.Extended control options for the mix:The CMC3's comprehensive mixing control functions include: Dim, mono, phase reversal, cut functions for the left and right channels and a mute button. This allows you to reliably check the quality of your recordings: Immerse yourself in the mixes to discover disturbing background noises, test the stereo effect of your mix, track down phase cancellations and check the stereo difference signal. It can drive two pairs of stereo monitors and a subwoofer as well as feed headphones via a separate amplifier with volume control. With buttons for phase inversion, mono summing and DIM, a central monitoring section with the main functions for checking the mix is available.The CMC2 is housed in an attractive and compact desktop case with an ergonomic user interface. The controller can be protected against theft via an opening for a Kensington lock. The active circuit design ensures a transparent sound without colouration and reproduces the recorded material with absolute authenticity.
