At the beginning of the 1960s, the single "Single Line" stamping in the centre of the Kluson machine heads was replaced by a double stamping, now called "Double Line".This machine head still has the original 15:1 ratio and its shape and finish make it perfect for replacing original parts from back then or for realising a new build with a "vintage vibe".

The original from Kluson!Maximum tuning stability! With the "Kluson Backlock System", the string is pulled through the horizontal hole in the shaft until it is halfway taut over the frets and then locked in place using the knurled wheel on the back of the machine headstock. A small pin inside the shaft clamps the string in place. The ingenious thing about this mechanism is that if you loosen the knurled wheel again and turn it further and further back, it finally ends up in neutral - so the knurled wheel can never fall off and get lost!

With the "Kluson Toplock System", the string is clamped on the front of the headstock using a screw mechanism. The slotted clamping screw is lightly tightened with a coin and presses on a small ball, which gently fixes the string in the cross hole. The machine heads can also be used without the locking function if required.
