Rohema Percussion - Robert Hillinger Markneukirchen is a family business in its 5th generation. Company founder Robert Eduard Hellinger started production in Markneukirchen in 1888. The classic 5A drumstick in a new, innovative guise: the Rohema 5A Evolution. The Evolution was developed as part of a research project by Rohema and the Institute for Musical Instrument Making (IfM). The 5A Evolution has a significantly longer shoulder than the classic 5A stick. This means that it not only generates much more rebound, but also more speed and drive. This was also confirmed by the Institute's measurements. Significantly higher rebound rates were measured compared to the conventional 5A hickory drumstick. The centre of gravity of the 5A Evolution remains absolutely the same, as the end of the stick has been specially rounded. The usual weight is also retained, as the Evolution is made from hickory of a heavier weight class. This compensates for the loss in mass.The higher density of the wood also has a positive effect on the durability of the stick. The taper at the end of the stick also gives you a better feel for when you are straying from the optimum stick position.
