This microphone delivers clear and transparent sound quality with plenty of headroom. For years, this was the preferred headworn microphone for broadcasters and theatres on Broadway as well as in many auditoriums and lecture theatres. This is due to its pristine sound and durability.
The headband design is unique. The microphone boom can be detached from the headband and reattached on either the left or right side. The often problematic humidity in the theatre is not an issue here. This microphone was designed with a double-vent protection system and drop-stop in the microphone boom. The materials in the microphone itself are also waterproof. Thanks to these design elements, it is virtually impossible for the microphone to fail due to moisture.
The sensitivity of the microphone is 6 mV/Pa. This matches the level of the human voice to the general input sensitivity of most wireless transmitters. With the appropriate power supply, the microphone can handle very high sound pressure levels of up to 144 dB SPL before clipping.
