With its supercardioid polar pattern, the 4097 offers high directivity, low self-noise and very high sensitivity. The microphone can handle high sound pressure levels, delivering a low-distortion, natural sound, even when actors speak or shout loudly. With a linear frequency response, low distortion and an extremely wide dynamic range, it sounds great no matter how challenging the environment. In addition, dialogue and signals coming from the side of the microphone (off-axis) do not degrade the audio signal; the volume of the interfering voice is simply reduced.
