Inside the 2006 omnidirectional microphone with double diaphragm, two miniature capsules are fitted as standard, one facing the other. Arranged as a double diaphragm, they form a capsule unit. This combines the advantages of small capsules with the lower inherent noise of a larger diaphragm surface. These capsules offer a fast impulse response and a wide frequency bandwidth.
The capsules are combined with the preamplifiers of the outstanding d:dicate™ microphone series instead of the tiny FET preamplifiers of the miniature series. This gives the sound more airiness and precision.
Comparisons with its bigger brother, the iconic 4006 omnidirectional microphone, are inevitable. The connection between the two is clear to hear. The 2000 series performs as well as more exclusive microphones. It is a premium class microphone that redefines the term price-performance ratio.
