The JP95 John Petrucci Cry Baby® Wah is the result of the legendary prog-metal shredder's long-standing quest for the perfect wah sound. For years, John Petrucci had his Cry Baby Rack Wah System, tweaking and tuning his sound and its many parameters until he found the sound that provided all the expression and intensity he needed.
Recently, he and Dream Theater engineer Richard Chycki collaborated with the Cry Baby design team to replicate that sound in a single pedal. This is the wah, which as John puts it sounds "huge and badass like an angry, screeching monster" and "perfect for shaping single notes or roaring, hard chords".
Out of the factory, the JP95 comes with John's personal settings and contains the exact internal controls he used to find his Cry Baby sound: Volume to add gain; Q to shape the width of the wah effect and a 6-band EQ that can shape the sound of the wah sound from 100Hz to 3.2 kHz.
