Product information "ESI M4U eX"
Each of these 8 ports can be used either as a MIDI input or as a MIDI output, so that not only classic MIDI interfaces such as the familiar predecessor models with 4 inputs and 4 outputs are replaced, but other configurations are also possible: For example, up to 8 outputs or 8 inputs can be used simultaneously, or, for example, 6 outputs and 2 inputs and any other combination. The best thing about it is that the whole thing happens completely automatically by recognising the signals, i.e. "incorrect" cabling is not even possible with the M4U eX.
M4U eX is not only one of the first MIDI interfaces with a USB 3.0 interface, it even offers a USB 3.0 hub with 3 connections for other USB devices such as software dongles, USB keyboards and others. You can therefore use the device as a central interface for all MIDI and USB instruments. The Class Compliant device also works via USB without an additional power supply; the supplied mains adapter can be used if required.
The Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 and macOS compatible hardware not only offers perfect timing and the lowest latency times in this class on the market, it even works completely standalone without a computer: use it to route signals from input to output, to merge MIDI signals or use M4U eX as a MIDI thru box. These modes can be called up as required using a button.
If 8 ports are not enough, you can use several devices on one computer at the same time - or you can use the larger model, our M8U eX with 16 ports.
