Kevin Shields, an innovator and key influence on effects-laden guitar tones, created iconic walls of fuzz like the world had never heard before when he defined the sound of alternative rock in the 80s and 90s. His favourite tool for fuzz chaos: an original Fender® Blender effects pedal, prized for its dynamic response and gripping fuzz splattering. Over four years of joint development, Fender and Shields have revived this legendary 1970s fuzz and added a subversive feature set to create the all-new Fender Shields Blender.

At the heart of the Fender Shields Blender is the tone of Shields' own 1970s Fender Blender, the circuitry of which has been painstakingly recreated by hand. Around this vintage circuitry, completely new ways of controlling and blending the original fuzz voice have been developed, with four easily accessible footswitches for performance. Two footswitchable fuzz channels, each with its own level control, offer the ability to mix the fuzz voice with the clean signal or blend the fuzz voice with a powerful sub-octave fuzz, while the Sag footswitch introduces sputtering and ducking effects like you've never heard before, all controlled by the intensity of your playing dynamics.

Fender is recognised as one of the greatest manufacturers and pioneers of solid body guitars. As the creator of the Telecaster and Stratocaster, founder Leo Fender created milestones in the history of electric guitars and thus a cult following. The name Fender alone is enough to evoke melodies, memories and emotions in the mind. When you hear a Fender Telecaster or a Fender Stratocaster, legendary songs such as "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix, "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple and "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton immediately spring to mind. There is also a long history behind the famous Fender amps. Leo Fender started building guitar amps even before he built his first guitars. These were of course built using tube technology, Fender only started with solidstate models in the late 60s...

Rodenberg BL-800 Overdrive

What makes a good amplifier sound?Tube technology, selected high-voltage components, dynamics through high-voltage technology and an uncompromising analogue signal path. The BL 800 follows exactly this path. AVTC - Analogue Virtual Tube Circuit, selected high-voltage components, 280V operating voltage and a completely analogue signal path. The BL 800 is built like a real tube amplifier, with the same components, and that's exactly how it sounds!Sound without compromise:The BL 800 delivers a clearly defined, tight sound with plenty of attack. It also has a dynamic response and reaction to the guitar's potentiometer that only good tube amplifiers can achieve. The gain reserves surpass the good old JCM800, especially when the boost is switched on. Without the boost activated, the BL 800 is an exact sound copy of the JCM 800 with a little more gain; with the boost activated, there is a decent extra boost of gain.Controls:Gain, bass, middle, treble, volume, plus a gain boost. Five controls are enough to adapt the BL800 perfectly to an amplifier. This is achieved by an active 3-band tone control that covers all sound nuances. The boost adds a further scoop of gain without changing the actual sound of the BL 800.
