The Genelec 8050B combines powerful and broadband monitoring with precise imaging, very low distortion and an extended bass range with high definition. This two-way powerhouse is the best choice for near-field monitoring situations in broadcasting, surround installations, mastering studios and television and video production studios.

The MDE enclosure (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) made of aluminium with its rounded edges improves the frequency and dispersion characteristics. The minimisation of sound diffraction ensures excellent imaging.

The pioneering DCW sound guide has been further optimised to ensure a precisely defined dispersion pattern. The result is a wide, uniform listening zone with reduced sound colouration caused by early room reflections.

The flow-optimised bass reflex tunnel enables an extended transmission range at low frequencies, high sound pressure reserves and good audibility in the bass range.

New low-distortion speaker chassis and sophisticated filter technology smooth the frequency response and optimise reliability. Together with the MDE housing, these improvements across the entire audio spectrum result in high sound resolution and reduced listening fatigue.

The robust housing of the 8050B with its silky matt surface and acoustically optimised metal protective grilles can also withstand heavy use. Secure positioning is possible thanks to integrated fixing points for floor stands and wall brackets on the rear panel and an additional M10 thread on the base of the housing.

Thanks to the signal-recognising auto-start function, the monitor switches on automatically when an audio signal is present. After one hour without an audio signal, the monitor switches back to standby mode.

The rubber Iso-Pod stand allows the speaker to be tilted for alignment with the listening position. Its decoupling function prevents sound colouration caused by the transmission of unwanted vibrations to the base.

The combination of five Genelec 8050Bs and the Genelec 7071A subwoofer is a serious contender for all larger surround setups. Still compact in size but big in sound quality and precision, this system supports creative work.

The new IN-8 2nd Wave has an updated amplifier module and enables 12 dB less self-noise with a 3dB higher output. The tuning has been refined for even smoother high-frequency behaviour and the boundary EQs have been updated to enable practical settings. A new feature here is the preset for horizontal speaker positioning. Further updates include lighter transducer cones for faster transient response and an improved cabinet design for less natural resonance.As a further development of the successful LP-8, the IN-8 2nd Wave features its sophisticated bass reflex system and the same level-resistant woofer. However, instead of the usual tweeter with 3D imaging waveguides, a coaxial midrange/tweeter combination has been installed here. The profile-optimised 4″ midrange driver also functions as a waveguide. By limiting the peak excursion to 1 mm, intermodulation distortion, which otherwise occurs in coaxial systems, could be avoided. The midrange driver also relieves the woofer and tweeter, so the IN-8 2nd Wave plays more harmoniously and with less distortion than conventional 2-way studio monitors.The crossover frequency of the woofer is 280 Hz, making the IN-8 2nd Wave an acoustic point source.
