The Genelec 8350 is an active studio monitor from the SAM series (Smart Active Monitor). SAM means that the loudspeaker can adapt to the room acoustics. This is done using a measuring microphone at the listening position and the GLM software (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager). It utilises the DSP filters in the loudspeakers to reduce the disturbing influences of the room. 20 filters are available, which can also be adjusted manually. Listening conditions can be significantly improved, particularly in rooms where the acoustics are problematic, and the high resolution and transparency of the reproduction guarantees relaxed, analytical listening. Automatic level adjustment and time alignment make it easier to set up surround and 3D audio setups. The housing of the Genelec 8350 is made of die-cast aluminium. It is stable and has a large internal volume. Thanks to the bass reflex technology, the speaker delivers deep bass despite its compact dimensions. The rounded edges of the enclosure improve localisation and spatial imaging. The sound guide ensures linear dispersion and a wide listening zone, and the Genelec 7370 or 7271 are suitable subwoofers.
