The PRE-73 MKIV is a single-channel microphone, line and instrument preamplifier in vintage style. The signal path uses only discrete components such as resistors, capacitors and transistors. The inputs and outputs are transformer-balanced, using two different transformers, each optimised for its purpose. The circuit used in the PRE-73 MKIV is similar to the preamplifier section of the classic 1073 module with a corresponding sound character that is warm, punchy and musical. These classic characteristics have been heard on countless recordings over the years. Its versatile sound can be used with most sound sources and in most genres.
