The Heil Sound PR31BW contains the capsule of the proven PR30, but has a much smaller housing with a length of 10.8cm and a diameter of 5.3cm. This makes the microphone very versatile and particularly suitable for miking drums.
Mids and high mids are strikingly defined and presented with pleasantly soft sound characteristics - never annoying! A phase plug, familiar from loudspeaker technology, ensures a pronounced but controlled directional characteristic. This characteristic makes the microphone an ideal "problem solver" for recordings with high ambient noise levels (e.g. live recording). Very good all-round microphone. Excellent for picking up guitar amps and vocals as well as for use as drum overheads. Recommended applications: Guitar speaker cabinets, overheads, piano and speech.
