Kalimbas are reed instruments that originated in southern Africa and can be found there in countless shapes and designs. Our Kalimba B17 is carefully handcrafted in Germany from solid American cherry. The surfaces are treated with vegetable oils and waxes and polished. The 17 sound reeds are precisely tuned in the C major scale, allowing a variety of well-known songs to be played. The B17 is equally suitable for chordal accompaniment of melodies or for improvisation and intuitive playing.
