LD Systems MAUI 44 G2

For bands and DJs, column systems have triggered a true revolution in numerous areas of application. It has never been easier to provide even large rooms with uniform sound using a small and unobtrusive PA system. With the MAUI 44 G2, the professional segment is now also being served with these practical and powerful sound reinforcement systems.

The MAUI 44 G2 from LD-Systems is the flagship of the column PAs from the MAUI series and offers a generous 1,500 watts of total power (RMS) with a frequency response of 37 Hz to 20 kHz and a sound pressure level of 132 dB (peak). With its outstanding sound characteristics and versatile functions, this compact column PA is recommended for hire companies, musicians, small clubs, street festivals and permanent installations. The cardioid properties of the column elements and the option of using an additional subwoofer to achieve a cardioid application in the bass range also emphasise the professional standard of this sound system. A rear attenuation of 18 dB is achieved with the column and 15 dB with the subwoofer. The MAUI 44 G2 also sets the tone when it comes to equipping the two-part column with twelve 3.5" neodymium full-range speakers and four 1" HF drivers with waveguide. The phase plugs on the six upper drivers improve the horizontal directivity, reduce the distortion factor and optimise the sensitivity below the crossover frequency for the tweeters. In addition, the four tweeters feature specially designed and optimised compression drivers connected to a constant directivity waveguide, providing 120° of width coverage and 25° of focused vertical directivity. The curved design of the waveguide transports more energy in the high frequencies to listeners who are further away.

The TrueWireless™ stereo function makes work much easier for fixed installations or conference sound reinforcement. This technology enables the wireless connection of two systems for stereo playback. Bluetooth® streaming in HD quality is possible without any problems thanks to aptX™ and AAC coding and the DynX® DSP technology guarantees distortion-free sound reproduction even at the highest volumes. The overall and subwoofer levels can be individually adjusted, enabling a perfectly balanced sound with crystal-clear highs, crisp mids and, thanks to the flow-optimised bass reflex channels, particularly powerful bass in every situation.

Another particularly user-friendly feature is the automatic setup recognition of the MAUI 44 G2: if, for example, the column is removed in order to use the subwoofer as a slave, the display automatically switches to SLAVE and functions such as Bluetooth and the volume controls for MAIN and SUB are no longer displayed.

The MAUI 44 G2 is also top class when it comes to transport and mobile use. It can be set up quickly and easily without cables or stands using special multi-pin connectors. Together, the robust subwoofer enclosure made of birch multiplex with polyurea coating and the lightweight, powder-coated aluminium column weigh less than 48 kg. Compared to the previous model, the weight has been reduced by 20 %. The optionally available transport roller board, the transport bag and the sub cover provide excellent service in everyday use.

On the input side, the MAUI 44 G2 offers two XLR IN connections. Two XLR outputs enable the wired stereo configuration of two systems. An additional subwoofer can be connected via the SUB OUT and power is supplied safely and reliably via a PowerCon connection.
