Product information "Lewitt LCT 840"
LEWITT's LCT 840 is an externally polarised double-diaphragm tube microphone that has been developed to meet the highest demands. Equipped with a high-precision 1-inch capsule, the LCT 840 delivers the classic warm vintage sound of a tube microphone.
Perfectly matched to vocal and instrumental recordings, the versatile LCT 840 allows a very nuanced and authentic sound reproduction for all studio recordings.
Five polar patterns - omnidirectional, wide cardioid, cardioid, supercardioid and figure-of-eight - as well as three-stage high-pass filter and pre-attenuation make the LCT 840 a very versatile tool for professional sound engineers and artists looking for an honest, authentic tube sound.
Like all LEWITT microphones, the LCT 840 is characterised by a very low equivalent noise of only 9 dB. Off-axis noise is efficiently shielded by the accurate directional characteristics. The microphone has a high-pass filter and a pre-attenuation - each selectable in three stages using silent pushbuttons on the external power supply unit (PSU).
In addition to the ease of use and impressive technical features that are crucial for memorable recordings, the LCT 840 also leaves a lasting visual impression: the microphone proudly presents the tube responsible for its characteristic sound via a large Plexiglas window on the front. The inside of the window is covered with a special, highly conductive transparent film that shields against electromagnetic interference.
