Product information "Meinl B14EQH Byzance Vintage 14" Equilibrium HiHat"

Similar to the China of the same name, Matt Garstkas' Equilibrium Hihat offers a unique balance between attack, tone, response and volume. Different zones of the cymbal have been turned down to create a particularly bright sound, while others have been left unprocessed to enhance the attack and bite. The dry character of the Equilibrium Hihat, on the other hand, is due to sandblasting in other areas of the cymbal. Six holes on the edge of the bell of the bottom cymbal give the hihat additional chic when played with the foot. This signature model by Matt Garstka offers a broad spectrum of dynamics and can be used in a wide variety of situations: Starting with a washy sound, through a short, crisp attack to an assertive kick.

"When I play an instrument, I want it to work in every situation. The Equilibrium Hihat fulfils this requirement, which is why I will be playing it for many years to come." -Matt Garstka
