The Meinl Byzance Foundry Reserve Collection offers a small selection of cymbals that have been equipped by our specialists over many years of development with a multitude of nuances and an exceptionally wide sound spectrum. These one-of-a-kind cymbals are crafted using traditional blacksmithing techniques and have a unique surface due to their "one-of-a-kind" hand hammering. This hammering pattern, together with the twisted top and bottom, creates a clear, dry stick response underpinned by a full, voluminous carpet of sound. Due to the very elaborate, traditional handwork, these unique pieces are only available in very small numbers.
The warm, nuanced sound of these hihat cymbals offers a very broad frequency spectrum. The harmonised combination of the thin top in conjunction with a slightly thicker bottom cymbal makes this hihat very versatile and gives it a warm, full sound. The sick response is warm, powerful and produces a pleasant wash when the hihat is opened slightly. The well-balanced foot chick rounds off this hihat, which can be used in a variety of musical styles.
