The Byzance cymbals represent the classic, traditional line in the Meinl cymbal range. Cymbals made of B20 bronze, which are manufactured entirely by hand, from casting to hammering to turning. Each cymbal is a small work of art, each cymbal is unique with an individual sound. The Byzance cymbals are the perfect all-rounders, suitable for pop, rock and jazz. Each blank is moulded using the traditional single cast method. This means that every single cymbal is made from an individually cast piece.
Every Meinl Byzance cymbal is hand-hammered. This elaborate manufacturing process forms the basis for the outstanding sound characteristics of this series. As a new line within the established Byzance series, the new Meinl "Byzance Jazz" cymbals were introduced, which were developed in collaboration with some of Meinl's top artists. These cymbals are characterised by an authentic sound that is not only indispensable in traditional jazz.
