The Meinl Byzance Foundry Reserve Collection offers a small selection of cymbals that have been equipped by our specialists over many years of development with a multitude of nuances and an exceptionally wide sound spectrum. These one-of-a-kind cymbals are crafted using traditional blacksmithing techniques and have a unique surface due to their "one-of-a-kind" hand hammering. This hammering pattern, together with the twisted top and bottom, creates a clear, dry stick response underpinned by a full, voluminous carpet of sound. Due to the very elaborate, traditional handwork, these unique pieces are only available in very small numbers.
The powerful hand hammering in combination with the fully turned surface gives the crash cymbal from the Byzance Foundry Reserve Collection its full, dark sound with a quick response and short sustain. Thanks to the diverse sound nuances in this cymbal, which is made entirely by hand, it can also be used very well as a light ride in a small setup.
