Hochwertiges Interface auch für Linux
Die Auswahl an hochwertigen Interfaces für Linux ist trotz USB Class Compliant Mode immer noch eher begrenzt. Die RME Geräte genießen hier ein gewisses Ansehen, selbst wenn man sagen muss, dass die Firma selbst eigentlich Null Interesse an Linux-Support hat (kann man mal bei den RME Foren nachschauen, ist eher traurig). Im CC Modus kann man unter Linux dennoch sehr gut arbeiten, fast alles läßt sich am Gerät schalten, inklusive Input-Monitoring (falls gewünscht), Phantom ein/aus (etwas fummelig, aber ok). Ein paar Tricks braucht man, um einige Sachen umzuschalten, z.B. die Ausgänge 3/4 unabhängig von 1/2 zu nutzen. Das einzige, was wohl leider nicht ohne nativen Treiber / Totalmix geht, ist das PAD in den Analogeingängen zu aktivieren. Etwas schade, hier wäre es ohne weiteres möglich, diese Funktion in ein Firmware-Update zu packen. Aber wie gesagt, die Motivation bei RME ist eher niedrig, den CC Modus zu verbessern. Würde es wieder kaufen. Mittlerweile sitzt es am Rand meines Schreibtisches auf einer Kombination aus K&M 23723 (Tischklemme) und K&M 23900 (3/8" Quick-Release). Gute Idee von RME auf der Unterseite ein 3/8" Gewinde einzulassen.
