The VideoMic NTG is a feature-packed shotgun microphone designed specifically for camera mounting with broadcast quality transmission. It features the same revolutionary acoustic design as our NTG5 broadcast shotgun microphone for unprecedented acoustic transparency and natural, colouration-free sound. Add to this the incredibly smooth frequency response, precise supercardioid polar pattern and extremely low self-noise, and you have a compact camera microphone that can compete with the world's best shotgun microphones.
In addition to its outstanding sound, the VideoMic NTG is also extremely flexible thanks to its many different functions, helping you to master any recording situation. Electronic switches can be used to activate the high-pass filter, the presence boost for better understanding of details, the -20 dB pre-attenuation and the safety channel function. In addition: the unique gain control on the microphone, with which the output signal can be precisely adjusted to the subsequent device, as well as an intelligent 3.5 mm jack output that recognises whether you have a camera or smartphone connected and automatically activates the corresponding assignment - you no longer need TRS/TRRS adapters! There is also the practical peak LED, which reliably warns you of clipping.
The VideoMic NTG is much more than just a camera microphone: it is the perfect companion for DSLRs, compact cameras and smartphones - either on the camera's hot shoe, on a boom pole or a pistol grip - as well as a fully-fledged USB microphone that can be connected to a computer, tablet or smartphone. In addition, the 3.5 mm jack socket also serves as a headphone output for real-time monitoring while using the USB output.
