The wide, fanned-out striking surface of the flat brushes produces unique, smacking sounds. The comparatively narrow handle sits comfortably in the hand. You can use the flat brushes as normal on the set, but you can also use them like brooms. The sorghum millet provides slightly less attack than wooden rods from rods, but much more volume than classic metal brushes.You can use the flat brushes for quieter passages on the set or in jazz, for example, or you can also use them on the cajon.
