The sE2300 is the multi-pattern version of the multi-award-winning 2200 condenser microphone, which sE Electronics made famous many years ago in particular for providing the user with an outstanding sound - especially for the price range - that is very well suited for a variety of applications such as vocal recordings, voice-overs and instrument recordings. The cardioid version became famous when world-class artists such as Amy Winehouse used it in the studio. And this multi-pattern version further improves the versatility and usability for any recording situation.

sE has given the sE2300 numerous features that made its predecessor models the microphone that a whole generation of studio engineers love so much. The sE2300 is equipped with the same capsule, the same custom transducers and the discrete Class A circuitry that were used in the previous models. The state-of-the-art components, paired with a shorter, further optimised signal path, enable an enormously low self-noise of just 8dB(A).

This not only makes the sE2300 one of the quietest microphones on the market in terms of noise behaviour, it is also - especially together with the new polar pattern, pad and filter options - one of the most versatile studio tools on the market that can show off its full class in any recording situation. Whether recording vocals or speech, drums, electric guitar or acoustic instruments, the sE2300 always knows how to impress.

Just like the finest musical instruments in the world, the capsule of the sE2300 is manufactured and tuned by hand in the company's own factory in Shanghai. Unlike many competitor backplate and electret capsules, the capsule of the sE2300 is a true condenser capsule that offers the best possible performance in every respect.

The microphone's new electronics and the two switchable attenuation filters enable a high dynamic range and can handle high sound pressure levels. The two switchable LoCut filters prevent impact noise and reduce the increase in bass due to the proximity effect. This means that even the loudest instruments such as electric guitar amplifiers, drums and wind instruments can be easily picked up using a close mic. Thanks to the switchable directional characteristics, the room components on the recording can be varied according to taste.

The housing, which is made of robust, roadworthy metal, and sE's high manufacturing standards make the sE2300 a reliable workhorse - even in difficult environments and situations.
