With the Aria, the British microphone specialist Sontronics is offering a new model that has been specially developed for this area of application. With its warm, present characteristics and precise response, it produces a unique sound that perfectly emphasises both female and male voices.

Selected components for a warm sound for voice recordings To ensure that the Aria achieves an outstanding sound when recording voices, only the best components are used. The specially selected European 12AX7/ECC83 tube provides a silky smooth characteristic reminiscent of sought-after vintage microphones. The large 1.07-inch capsule with edge finish captures the nuances of the voice in detail. In combination with the precise response behaviour and the soft treble cut known from Sontronics, excellent voice recordings are created. Thanks to the fixed cardioid characteristic, disturbing ambient noise is reduced.

Developed together with leading musicians and producers to create a tube microphone of the highest quality, Sontronics mastermind Trevor Coley invested 18 months in the development of the Aria. He worked closely with world-class artists and engineers. For example, he was able to draw on the experience of Oscar and Grammy award-winning producer Paul Epworth, who has worked with the likes of Paul McCartney and U2. In addition to Mercury Award-winning musician PJ Harvey, numerous sound engineers from the famous Abbey Road Studios were also involved in the development.

"I've been working on the concept of a tube microphone specifically for voice recording for a long time," explains Trevor Coley. "The Aria is the result of many months of development and extensive testing. I was very fortunate to be able to recruit some incredibly talented musicians and producers. We've created a microphone that should be a must-have in any studio that demands high-quality voice recordings. With its smooth, warm sound, the Sontronics Aria will take your breath away!"

Lifetime guarantee and extensive accessories Sontronics emphasises its own quality standards with a lifetime guarantee. This also applies to the external power supply unit, which offers various setting options in addition to the appropriate power supply. Both a pad for -10dB operation and a switch for the linear 75Hz filter are available. An LED also indicates when the tube has reached the optimum operating temperature for the best sound. In addition to the microphone, the scope of delivery also includes an elegant, velvet-lined wooden box, a robust aluminium case, a microphone spider and a conventional ring holder.
