The Listem Mic Compressor in API500 format is borrowed from the legendary SL 4000 E console of the 1980s and was described at the time as the "secret weapon" of sound engineers. Originally, this compressor was only designed to avoid clipping in the return feed of the communication track. However, with its fixed attack and release curves, the LMC was ideal for an "ambient drum sound". For its role as an independent processor tool, the LMC was equipped with additional features and was thus given the suffix "+".
