The Warm Audio BUS-COMP is a pure analogue, 2-channel stereo VCA compressor based on a classic circuit that has provided a silky smooth sound for decades. Stereo VCA compressors are masterful at controlling the dynamics of many sources, but they are widely recognised for their "magic touch" on stereo mixes.
The BUS-COMP is ideal for stereo mixes, drum submixes and overheads, acoustic guitars, keyboards, piano, orchestral instruments, voice-overs and a range of other sources. The BUS-COMP is primarily designed for stereo operation, but can also be used successfully for mono signals. As a VCA compressor, it effortlessly controls the dynamics and adds sound and depth to the audio signal even in bypass mode.
The redevelopment of the legendary VCA compressor technology was at the centre of the BUS-COMP's design, but the expansion of the control possibilities and sound options have also been taken into account. An outstanding feature of the BUS-COMP are the input and output transformers which are driven by fully discrete operational amplifiers. With the push of a button on the front panel, these Cine-Mag USA transformers, manufactured for Warm Audio, are switched into the signal path and offer more depth, sound and vibe!
