Product information "Warm Audio WA-84 stereo set"

Warm Audio presents the WA-84, a classic small diaphragm condenser microphone with a cardioid characteristic. The vintage-style microphone has a class A signal path and features CineMag transformers, Fairchild transistors and Wima capacitors. As a classic small diaphragm microphone, it is suitable for a wide range of applications, including acoustic and electric guitars and basses, drums, piano, strings and wind instruments.

Compact dimensions, big sound:

Despite its small dimensions, the WA-84 small diaphragm condenser microphone delivers a voluminous and warm sound. To achieve this, Warm Audio uses a CineMag transformer with a nickel core in the WA-84.

Small diaphragm condenser microphones have generally moved to a transformerless design in recent years, making development easier and the manufacturing process less costly. When developing the WA-84, Warm Audio decided to go one step further and chose this exclusive design that delivers a crystal clear yet smooth and big sound. This unusual approach to the design of the WA-84 allows Warm Audio to recreate the legendary sound of the 60's and 70's with today's technology.

Warm Audio is proud to offer something special to the market by utilising large-core transformer technology (CineMag USA) in a small diaphragm condenser microphone. The result is a circuit that sounds absolutely stunning in terms of signal integrity and smoothness.

The capsule of the WA-84:

The WA-84 utilises a vintage-style capsule custom-built for Warm Audio that emulates classic components and design techniques. The WA-84's capsule is carefully crafted by an Australian capsule manufacturer and accurately replicates the legendary specifications. This high-quality capsule is one of the most important components for the sound of the WA-84.

The CineMag transformer:

The WA-84 uses a US-made CineMag transformer with a nickel core, which contributes significantly to the creamy, warm sound of the small diaphragm condenser microphone.

The circuit design and the capacitors:

The full Class A circuit design has a major influence on the outstanding sound quality of the WA-84, as do the Fairchild FET and the Wima, polystyrene and tantalum feed-through capacitors used throughout the circuit. With the WA-84, Warm Audio has once again succeeded in bringing a legendary classic into the modern age.

All microphones are supplied as a set with spider, pop protection and microphone holder in a robust transport case. The WA-84 is available as a mono or stereo set in the colours nickel and black.
