With the spectacular H3-VR virtual reality audio recorder, Zoom Corporation introduces a comprehensive solution for recording and processing 360° audio for VR, AR and mixed reality content in a single compact and portable device.

With its 4-capsule Ambisonics microphone and built-in A/B decoder, the H3-VR captures four channels of audio that are automatically converted for use in 360° audio applications. Editing steps that previously required an extensive hardware rig and specialised software can now be done intuitively with the brand new Zoom H3-VR Handy Recorder.

The H3-VR can also play back stereo files directly in standard and binaural modes, enabling hyper-realistic, spatial audio recordings that are particularly interesting for filmmakers, video artists and musicians who want to add VR-like depth to their sound.

Thanks to its compact, conical design, the H3-VR can capture audio at different angles without interfering with the video camera's recording field. Once the audio has been recorded, the H3-VR's internal Ambisonics playback function can be used to adjust the spatial image.

The H3-VR also has a six-axis motion sensor for the Auto Mic Position and Level Detection functions: it therefore doesn't matter how you positioned the recorder from scene to scene - the alignment between the 360° video and audio orientation is maintained in every case.

The brand new Zoom H3-VR Handy Recorder now offers the unique opportunity to utilise pioneering VR audio technology in a single recording device.
