With the H5 Handy Recorder, we are continuing our constant endeavours to further develop and continuously improve products in the interests of users and their requirements. The H5 offers four simultaneous recording tracks and, like our top product H6, the option of using all Zoom interchangeable microphone capsules. This allows you to choose the right microphone for every recording situation. As powerful as it is versatile, the H5 gives you everything you need for multitrack recording, film sound, high-quality podcasting, broadcasting and electronic news gathering.
The X/Y method offers a wide recording range, but at the same time captures the sound centre clearly and with definition - ideal for stereophonic live recordings of all kinds. The XYH-5 X/Y microphone capsule supplied with the H5 offers two matched unidirectional condenser microphones arranged at a 90-degree angle. The capsules are housed in an advanced shockproof enclosure that uses robust external cables and rubber-coated materials to decouple the recorder and capsule from each other, minimising vibration and noise during operation. The design of the XYH-5 allows the H5 to handle higher levels than any other mobile phone recorder. The sound pressure limit is 140 dB, corresponding to the volume of a jet taking off at a distance of around 60 metres. Capture sounds louder, closer and cleaner than ever before!
