Hokema B11 G major 440Hz Melody Kalimba
Hokema B11 G major 440Hz Melody Kalimba
card.manufacturer:
Kalimbas are reed instruments that originated in southern Africa and can be found there in countless shapes and designs. Our Kalimba B11 'Melody' is carefully handcrafted from solid American cherry (black cherry). The surfaces are treated with vegetable oils and waxes and polished. The 11 reeds are precisely tuned in the G major scale, allowing a variety of well-known songs to be played. However, the "Melody" is just as suitable for improvisation and intuitive playing. For technical and tonal reasons, we have alternated long and short reeds in the arrangement of the reeds. The six shorter reeds have been bent so that their ends are at a higher level than those of the long reeds so that they can be easily reached by the thumbs. When playing the notes from low to high, first the five long reeds are plucked alternately with both thumbs from the centre outwards - the right thumb starts on reed no. 6 - then the six short reeds, also from the centre outwards. The left thumb starts on tongue 5.

Hokema B7 C-Pentatonic 440 Hz Kalimba
card.manufacturer:

For this reason, it is often used by therapists. The subtle sound of this instrument is easily audible. It can also be amplified considerably by placing it on a suitable surface, such as a table top or the skin of a drum. The tuning of the Kalimba B7 is C-pentatonic and always produces harmonious sounds. As all tones always match each other, even beginners have a successful playing experience.

Hokema Sansula Basic Melody (B-Goods)
Hokema Sansula Basic Melody (B-Goods)
card.manufacturer:
The sansula - a patented invention from Hokema - is a new development of the kalimba (also known as sansa or mbira), which originated in southern Africa. Kalimbas are reed instruments that are plucked with the thumbs or fingers. In Africa, they are found in countless shapes and designs, in which the vibration of the tongue is amplified in various ways (e.g. on a resonance box, a hollow body such as a calabash gourd or simply a piece of solid wood). With the sansula, the vibration of the tongue is first 'stored' in a block of wood, which then transmits it to a sound membrane. In this way, the sound can be heard for much longer than with other methods of sound amplification. Supported by the tuning - octaves are close together - a wonderful, mellow sound rich in overtones is produced, which is easy to elicit from the instrument.

Hokema Sansula Deluxe A minor 440 Hz
Hokema Sansula Deluxe A minor 440 Hz
card.manufacturer:
The sansula belongs to the kalimba family and is just as easy to play as a normal kalimba. The instrument with the patented, free-floating suspension of the sound block is a complete in-house development. The Sansula Deluxe is a further development of our Sansula basic model. At the request of many customers, we have equipped it with a stable natural goatskin membrane and a tensioning device. These changes make the instrument even more versatile. As a product with components made from natural materials, each Deluxe model we deliver is unique and is characterised by an even fuller and warmer sound as well as its robustness. While the Sansula basic model is too sensitive for use by small children, the Sansula Deluxe can now also be used in nurseries and music schools without having to worry about damaging it too easily.Of course, the Sansula Deluxe also requires careful handling, as is customary and appropriate for musical instruments. The tuning - an A minor sound with additional Bb and F - allows beautiful melodies to emerge almost all by themselves by plucking with the thumbs. As all the notes always fit together, even beginners will have a successful playing experience.
