Lester '59:The different shapes and neck profiles from the years 1957 to 1959 were the models for the MAYBACH® Lester models, which are made into optical and handcrafted masterpieces in the Maybach manufactory. Over the last 60 years, hordes of guitarists have redefined the magical sound time and time again, and it doesn't actually exist. From Peter Green to Slash, it's all there. The typical customer request for a PAF at AmberPickups is: It has to sound old, but lively - slightly nasal, but please with tight bass and silky lustre in the trebles. The hand-wound Spirit of '59 pickups are the perfect match for the earthy rock sound with which the great guitarists of the last few decades have repeatedly enraptured our Sacculus*. With the right amp/box, everything is possible here too. By the way: a solid mahogany body and its innards can even drive a well-trained guitarist into his back. Every MAYBACH® Lester therefore has a clear message: NO 4.0 kilos! Without the case, of course. The MAYBACH® Lester models are finished exclusively with nitro lacquer in the colours black, gold, wild cherry, midnight sunset, Havana tobacco and honey pie.

The MAYBACH® Capitol was modelled on what we consider to be the best year of manufacture, 1959, to pay homage to the archtop classic. The guitar with its flat, hollow body, arched top, F-shaped sound holes, two cutaways and two humbuckers produces the warm, wooden sound that jazz and blues musicians discovered for their art from the very beginning.But it was Eric Clapton who, during his time with Cream, showed that a ripped amp can turn a showpiece brush into a rock spoon. Noel Gallagher from Oasis and a number of indie bands also celebrate their music with the charming, powerful guitar sound of the 1960s. Of course, the sound spectrum of this guitar model cannot be pinned down to this decade and the styles mentioned. The guitar is simply too versatile for that and the musicians are too keen to experiment.Pickup freak Wolfgang Damm had the right nose again here, as the wooden sound of his Spirit of 59 amber pickups was enthusiastically waved through by the tone freaks on the MAYBACH jury with an all thumbs up right from the first test.The MAYBACH® Capitols are also finished exclusively with nitro lacquer.Tip: Set the toggle switch to the centre position. Set the bridge volume to 10 and explore the wonderful (woody) sounds with the neck volume between 3-8.

The magic of bursts:The year 1958 represents a milestone in the colouring of LP-style electric guitars, as the model range, which had previously been painted exclusively in gold, black or, in the case of the Junior, TV Yellow, was expanded in terms of colour. This year saw the first LP Style electric guitars with a finish in gradually mixed colours, which presented the middle of the guitar top in bright colours. These sunburst electric guitars are the holy grail of the LP style among guitar aficionados and are affectionately known as bursts. They can be found in many of the classic Maybach Lester model variants.
