The level control of the Tube-Tech CL 1B compressor is connected directly downstream of the input transformer. It is controlled by the sidechain amplifiers, which also contain the controllers for the control time - one for fixed and one for variable attack/release time.The two controllers can be operated either separately or together. This circuit works exclusively with semiconductor OP amplifiers. The level is reduced via a tube-based push-pull amplifier with a downstream variable gain of up to 30 dB. A special 3-position bus selector switch (Off, Bus 1, Bus 2) allows multiple compressor units to be daisy-chained and the input and output transformers have electrostatic shielding between the primary and secondary windings. Input and output are symmetrical and completely earth-free.

The Tube Tech LCA 2B is probably one of the real highlights in the outboard sector. The stereo device is based on all-tube technology and offers independent compressor and limiter per channel, including stereo link of course. Attack and release time can be set via pre-sets or manually. In stereo mode, the channel with the highest gain reduction controls the other channel simultaneously. With the same gain control setting, the stereo image is thus secured. With a fine comp. setting low ratio e.g. 2:1 comp. 4-6dB and the limiter working above it, a maximum level of overload protection is achieved in master mode.

This 2-channel microphone preamplifier offers the warm, fine tube sound that is so sought after in many recordings. In addition to microphone inputs, the device also has DI inputs for the direct connection of guitars, which benefit wonderfully from the lively tube sound. The amplification of up to 70dB provides sufficient reserves for microphones with a low level.
