The Meinl Byzance Foundry Reserve Collection offers a small selection of cymbals that have been equipped by our specialists over many years of development with a multitude of nuances and an exceptionally wide sound spectrum. These one-of-a-kind cymbals are crafted using traditional blacksmithing techniques and have a unique surface due to their "one-of-a-kind" hand hammering. This hammering pattern, together with the twisted top and bottom, creates a clear, dry stick response underpinned by a full, voluminous carpet of sound. Due to the very elaborate, traditional handwork, these unique pieces are only available in very small numbers.The strong hand-hammering and the completely turned surface give this handmade ride its dry attack with a clear stick definition. This is complemented by a dark, warm and nuanced sustain. Despite the clear stick definition, this ride cymbal is also ideal for crushed ride figures.

The classic resonance head from Evans offers optimum air equalisation and a deep, powerful sound thanks to its 5" hole. This results, among other things, from the damping ring attached to the inside of the head. The decentralised position of the hole makes the EQ3 Resonant ideal for miking.

The tom and floor tom pads have been designed to produce a realistic stick response and at the same time emit an acoustic sound at a low volume. The surface of the pad consists of a double layer of foam rubber with a moderately soft, not overly bouncy response. A flexible resin body serves as the acoustic chamber.

Perfect for double bass playing. The hihat can be closed with a tap on the bracket. To hook it back in, simply press the hihat once and you can open it again as normal.

Kalimbas are reed instruments that originated in southern Africa and can be found there in countless shapes and designs. Our Kalimba B11 'Melody' is carefully handcrafted from solid American cherry (black cherry). The surfaces are treated with vegetable oils and waxes and polished. The 11 reeds are precisely tuned in the G major scale, allowing a variety of well-known songs to be played. However, the "Melody" is just as suitable for improvisation and intuitive playing.When arranging the reeds, we alternated long and short reeds for technical and tonal reasons. The six shorter reeds have been bent so that their ends are at a higher level than those of the long reeds so that they can be easily reached by the thumbs. When playing the notes from low to high, the five long reeds are first plucked alternately with both thumbs from the centre outwards - the right thumb starts on reed no. 6 - then the six short reeds, also from the centre outwards. The left thumb starts on reed 5.The Kalimba B11 electric model is equipped with a piezo pickup and a 6.35 mm jack socket. This makes it possible to pick up sound directly from the instrument without an additional microphone.

A key feature is a novel three-stage hammering process that allows for flexibility and tonal nuances that contribute to the unique signature of these crashes. The light-coloured outline around the playing surface tastefully rounds off the rich brown.The CaSela combines Sela's many years of experience in cajon construction with state-of-the-art production methods. This opens up completely new visual and acoustic possibilities that were previously impossible. All components are "Made in Germany" with quality at the highest level. The extra strong 15 mm birch body guarantees optimum sound development. Solid, rounded corners made of fine maple wood and the Sela Hard Splash playing surface ensure a pleasant, fatigue-free playing experience. The design allows the playing surface to be replaced at a later date.The sound of the Sela snare system can be muted or amplified according to taste. It is also very easy to remove. This gives you a traditional Peruvian Cajon without a snare. In addition to the crisp snare sound and the differentiated bass, the CaSela has individually adjustable clap corners, which opens up further interesting sound possibilities.
