This creates a wonderful, meditative sound similar to that of a handpan. A sound hole at the bottom of the drum can be closed with a silicone plug to achieve an even more compact sound. Three silicone feet on the underside prevent the drum from slipping when playing. The Medium Octave Steel Tongue Drum can be played with fingers or mallets. To start playing, simply place the instrument on a flat surface or comfortably in your lap. If desired, caps can be placed on one of the tube ends to octave the sound down. Any more questions? This English nursery rhyme lists four of the countless ways to play. Dozens more can be found by the children and young people themselves. Almost the entire (own) body is suitable as a boomwhacker striking surface, boomwhackers played against each other make intervals audible, tubes hit flat on the floor make 'floor shots'. The list could be extended indefinitely. All the percussion variations have one thing in common: you can literally learn them in no time at all."Music to go" - boomwhackers and movement:Boomwhackers are an excellent way to combine music and movement. If you transfer body percussion patterns to boomwhackers, you can quickly arrange entire pieces live. In dances, the colourful tubes can be used effectively both choreographically and tonally. Movement can often be used as a mediator to internalise a boomwhacker voice or pattern.Nobody has to look down the tube - boomwhackers for all ages:Kindergarten children construct boomwhacker marble runs, secondary school pupils twelve-tone rows. Boomwhackers are just as suitable for developing perception as they are for accompanying songs. The material's limited specifications enable meaningful work in a wide variety of contexts.
