As a throwback to the founding year, Evans '56 introduces a new series of drumheads that cater to the sound and look requirements of vintage era enthusiasts. Following the introduction of the bass drumheads, Evans '56 is now completed with the tom and snare heads.In order to optimise the sound for smaller tom sizes, higher tunings and a stronger response, a 7 mil thick film was used during production, in contrast to the bass drumheads. Calftone drumheads reproduce the same sound character of traditional calfskin drumheads, with the difference that they are made of synthetic material.As with the Calftone bass drumheads, Calftone tom/snare drumheads are supplied in vintage-style packaging. Available in sizes from 8" to 18".

Unlimited sound variety - convenient and child's play. Simply push the snare lever backwards to switch the snare sound on or off. The ergonomically and technically optimised position of the lever makes it possible to switch on and off at lightning speed, even while playing. When the snare is switched off, a traditional Peruvian cajon sounds with a fine response and balanced frequency spectrum. If you switch the snare on again, you get the typical Sela sound with a differentiated bass and snare sound. The sound can be attenuated or amplified according to taste. It is even possible to use a second Sela snare traverse. In addition, the CaSela has individually adjustable clap corners, which opens up further interesting sound possibilities. The extra strong 15 mm birch body guarantees optimum sound development. Solid, rounded corners made of fine maple wood and the Sela Thin Splash veneer playing surface ensure a pleasant, fatigue-free playing experience. This is available in three finishes: satin walnut, tineo and zebrano. The design means that the playing surface can be replaced at a later date.
