As a throwback to the founding year, Evans '56 introduces a new series of drumheads that cater to the sound and look requirements of vintage era enthusiasts. Following the introduction of the bass drumheads, Evans '56 is now completed with the tom and snare heads.In order to optimise the sound for smaller tom sizes, higher tunings and a stronger response, a 7 mil thick film was used during production, in contrast to the bass drumheads. Calftone drumheads reproduce the same sound character of traditional calfskin drumheads, with the difference that they are made of synthetic material.As with the Calftone bass drumheads, Calftone tom/snare drumheads are supplied in vintage-style packaging. Available in sizes from 8" to 18".

A special feature of the new two-ply EC2S drumheads is the new Sound Shaping Technology developed by Evans.
