The Benny Greb Signature 18" Quick Sand Ride is inspired by the iconic jazz and funk sound of the 70s and 80s. It is a small but heavy ride modelled on the symphonic cymbals used as rides in the past, which have developed their popular characteristic sound through "misuse" (frequent repairs). The "sound notch" in combination with the sandblasted surface give the Quick Sand Ride its modified, pre-aged character with remarkable clarity, control and a complex sound image. Hand-hammered in Turkey from B20 bronze.The unusual sandblasted surface gives a soft feel and a distinctive matt finish. Its deep, dark and somewhat dry washy sound is neither too soft nor too loud. With its excellent stick response and short sustain, the Byzance Vintage series allows you to play powerfully and always remain in full control. The sound is suitable for all styles of music that are not in the upper decibel range.
