A special feature of the new two-ply EC2S drumheads is the new Sound Shaping Technology developed by Evans. This technology makes it possible to provide each head with individual dampening according to its size. The damping material is not glued on, but is attached directly to the underside of the head and varies in thickness and width depending on the diameter of the head. This customised damping gives the new EC2S heads more tone, sustain and a crisp attack.
