All differences are explained in the detailed ADI-2 DAC manual.Even lower noise for IEM loversThe ongoing trend towards headphones has brought increased attention not only to conventional headphones, but also to IEMs (in-ear monitors) among audiophiles and music lovers. Modern IEMs have a reference quality sound that can easily compete with bulky over-ear headphones, making them not only a mobile alternative but also an interesting solution for the home.Modern IEMs are extremely sensitive and operate at very low voltages. As a side effect, however, they often make the background noise of the player, DAC or headphone amplifier audible. During the development of the Extreme Power headphone circuit, care was taken to keep the noise floor as low as possible. This has been confirmed in many tests (deep black background...). Even when using IEMs.Nevertheless, RME wanted to ensure that even the most sensitive IEM would deliver the full dynamic range to the ears of the most sensitive music listener. Also, high-quality outputs like the Extreme Power are not immune to operating errors and could overstrain ears like IEMs.RME's solution: add the most advanced IEM output imaginable as a second headphone output on the front of the ADI-2 DAC. Its noise floor is an astonishing 10 dB lower than that of the Extreme Power output (black hole...), the output impedance is close to zero ohms and the THD value reaches new record lows. Hermes is revolutionising mastering. It is now possible to have an audio signal processed by up to eight 2-channel processors in any order that can be saved. You can compare up to four complex processing chains at the touch of a button. Hermes also has two freely assignable parallel mix stages, which can be assigned to each of the eight processors and saved with a processing chain. This means that two compressors with different parallel mix settings can also be compared.The routing is completely passive with gas-encapsulated and gold-vapour-plated high-end relays. All active stages, such as the input/output stages and the parallel mix stages, work with SPL's own 120V technology.Hermes speeds up mastering workflows in a way that was previously difficult to achieve and maximises the use of existing equipment. The time-consuming re-plugging alone had made real comparative listening almost impossible. Now you can change, save and compare processing chains in a matter of seconds. The Rupert Neve Designs Portico 545 is a single-channel version of the Portico 5045 in 500 format, which has made the lives of just as many sound engineers much easier in countless live situations in recent years - such as the Super Bowl, the Oscars or on tour with acts like Madonna, Taylor Swift and Paul Simon. The Portico 545 Primary Source Enhancer allows the sound engineer to boost the microphone signal in a live sound environment by up to 20dB more before feedback, without negatively affecting the sound of the source signal.Thanks to its few control elements, changes can be made very easily and very quickly. This makes the 545 the perfect recommendation and an extremely useful tool for churches, stadiums, event halls or any other place where feedback is a problem.Completely analogue:The 545 incorporates Rupert Neve's custom transformer and completely dispenses with filter and digital technology. This means that the source signal is reproduced completely and intact.Quick and easy operation:The 545 is simply connected to the insert send of a mixing console or the line output of a microphone preamp. It is fed back to the corresponding insert return or the line input of a console. The few controls and the few reasons to change the settings again during a show make the 545 an extremely user-friendly tool and help the technician to achieve the best possible sound in the shortest possible time.Controls:Engage activates the use of the 545Threshold: Determines the level at which the PSE starts to intervene. The working range is -18dB to 12dB.Depth controls the intensity at which the 545 operates as soon as the signal falls below the threshold. In position "0", the 545 has no influence on the signal and can be used down to -20dB.Fast allows you to choose between two time constants in which the 545 operates. With the Fast button pressed, the device works faster and is better suited to more dynamic signals in this mode.Peak: If the "Peak" button is pressed, the 545 returns to the output level more quickly and recognises transients even better.
